Full Spectrum VS Broad spectrum CBD: What’s the Difference?

Content:

CBD is available in various forms

In recent years, the popularity of cannabidiol (CBD) has increased significantly. This growing popularity is the reason manufacturers are constantly offering new forms of consumption and extractions of this prized hemp extract. For consumption, CBD oil is still the most popular choice. When it comes to choosing between Full and Broad spectrum CBD oil the decision is not simple. Here are the cons and pros of each spectrum.

Cannabis contains a complex combination of active plant ingredients that create a unique therapeutic effect

CBD is just one of the therapeutic agents contained in the hemp plant. This prized plant is made up of a rich combination of active plant ingredients that complement each other and are most effective when in synergy.

Cannabis contains more than 426 various chemical compounds, of which there are around 60 different types of cannabinoid alone. In addition to cannabinoids, terpenes in cannabis – of which there are over 200 types – are also active ingredients. Flavonoids, of which there are around 20 types in cannabis and which also have many positive effects on the body, are the next most prevalent.

Division of CBD extracts according to the presence of various active substances contained in cannabis

CBD extracts are basically divided into three types. The first is full-spectrum CBD, in which, as the name portrays, the spectrum of the various active ingredients contained in cannabis is minimally altered and mimics that of nature as much as possible. Broad-spectrum CBD, which does not contain THC but does contain other active ingredients from cannabis, is an increasingly popular form. The last form is CBD isolate – an isolated CBD crystal that does not contain any other cannabis phytochemicals.

Full-spectrum CBD – pros, and cons

In addition to CBD cannabinoid, full-spectrum CBD contains around 60 different types of cannabinoids, waxes and terpenes. It also contains the legally allowed percentage of the THC, which is less than 0.2%.

Full-spectrum CBD provides the so-called entourage effect. This means that CBD has greater therapeutic power when in synergy with other cannabis phytochemicals. The total is more than the sum of the individual parts – the therapeutic effect is greater when the active ingredients act as a whole.

Several studies confirmed the power of the entourage effect.

A potential disadvantage of full-spectrum CBD is the content of the THC, which in higher percentages has a psychosomatic effect on the body. Full-spectrum CBD contains THC within the legally permitted limit th, which ensures that the users doesn't "feel high" when using the extract. A problem can arise if a person needs high amounts of CBD and other active ingredients to achieve an optimal therapeutic effect, which means that the final amount of THC is also higher. Another potential disadvantage of full-spectrum CBD is that with regular use of larger amounts, various drug tests can detect the presence of THC in the body.

Broad-spectrum CBD – pros and cons

Broad-spectrum CBD contains all the cannabis phytochemicals except for the THC. In broad-spectrum CBD oil, THC is completely removed during the process of extraction. The main advantage of wide-spectrum CBD is also its potential disadvantage, i.e. the absence of the THC.

CBD that does not contain THC is completely safe to use. The possibility of psychosomatic effects or the presence of THC showing up in drug tests is excluded.

At the same time, however, the absence of THC means that the entourage effect is lost. The natural presence of the active ingredients in cannabis is to some extent destroyed due to the absence of THC. However, broad-spectrum CBD still contains all other cannabinoids, waxes, and terpenes, and therefore still provides a very high degree of synergistic action and therapeutic power.

Should I choose broad-spectrum or full-spectrum CBD?

The decision as to which type of CBD is most suitable for you is up to you. Broad-spectrum CBD drops are becoming increasingly popular throughout the world, as they are completely safe to use. On the other hand, however, we have a large number of clients who swear by full-spectrum CBD, as they are thought to be the only ones that ensure the highest efficiency of the therapeutic action of cannabis. The final choice, therefore, depends entirely on your desires and needs.
