Why hemp

Hemp is sustainable by nature

When something grows very quickly, it is also said that it “grows like hemp”. Hemp has certainly earned its place in this saying. In just one season this wonderful plant can reach a height of three metres, whilst the strength and thickness of its stalks are such that it can easily match that of a small tree. It is a modest and undemanding plant that is almost insensitive to environmental factors, only birds and snails are known to be problematic for it.

In our ancestors fields

zgodovina konoplje

There is a long tradition of cultivating hemp in Slovenia. The oldest written record of this activity dates back to the 16th century. At that time hemp was present in some form in the majority of Slovenian homes. Our ancestors used it to make rope, clothing and other practical items. In the second half of the 20th century the practice of cultivating hemp declined in Slovenia; now, due to its numerous positive properties, the plant is once again gaining momentum. It is popular due to its simple cultivation, versatile use, and the plant's organic components, as well as, of course, the important and unbelievable beneficial effects it has on our skin and bodies.

Our skin and bodies adore hemp

Did you know that hemp oil is considered the most complete oil in nature? This is due to the perfect ratio of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which are only naturally present in hemp oil. Each part of a hemp plant is a source of beneficial effects. Precious hemp resin oozes from the leaves and stalks, the flowers provide cannabis hydrolate, which awakens new life in even the most tired skin, and the golden seeds are a source of complete hemp oil.

Hemp oil

Hemp oil is a perfect source of essential fatty acids and vitamin E. The unique composition of the oil moisturises the skin deeply, and the non-comedogenic structure does not close pores, therefore the oil is also suitable for the care of greasy and combination skin. Another important character of hemp oil is that it creates a natural barrier on the skin which allows skin to retain its own moisture.

CBD cannabinoid

CBD cannabinoid is rapidly gaining recognition globally. Due to all its positive benefits, almost miraculous properties are attributed to this natural cannabinoid. CBD balances the functioning of organisms and alleviates autoimmune reactions. It also helps in the communication between cells and in balancing stress and insomnia.

CBD cannabinoid is the solution for distressed skin. Skin needs it whenever it is faced with severe itching, rashes and flushing. It is also effective in alleviating the symptoms of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Due to its ability to reduce the excretion of sebum from the sebaceous glands, CBD is an excellent ally in the battle against acne and impure skin

Hemp hydrolate

Hemp hydrolate is the most mysterious of the hemp ingredients. This rare flower water accelerates microcirculation, stimulates skin and improves the appearance of pores. Due to its positive effects on the skin, we use cannabis hydrolate as the base ingredient for our face creams.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can hemp help with?

Hemp supports the body by interacting with the endocannabinoid system, helping to bring balance where it is needed most. It may provide relief in cases of inflammation, pain, insomnia, stress, autoimmune conditions and certain skin concerns. Hemp is a natural daily ally for health and wellbeing, particularly during times of stress, heavy workload or fatigue.

It also acts as an effective preventive measure to strengthen the immune system and support overall resilience. Hemp may ease anxiety, reduce nausea, relieve pain and inflammation, protect against harmful environmental factors and improve signs of ageing. In skincare, it helps soothe sensitive skin prone to eczema or psoriasis.

What is the difference between industrial and medicinal hemp?

The key difference lies in the content of THC. Industrial hemp contains only trace, legally permitted amounts of THC, while medicinal hemp has a significantly higher concentration of this cannabinoid.

How is hemp used?

Hemp can be applied topically in the form of hemp-based skincare, or taken as a dietary supplement. For internal use, hemp extracts are placed under the tongue, ensuring optimal absorption. It is recommended to start with the lowest dose and gradually increase it every few days until the desired effect is achieved.
