Summer has said its final goodbye and autumn has arrived in all of its glory. We have already adapted our wardrobe to the weather changes, but now we need to do the same in our skincare routine. The season of scarves and coats brings us a lot of magic as well as the cold, so it’s important to take proper care of our skin so that it has a healthy glow even on gloomy days and in cooler temperatures.
It’s predominantly the autumn temperatures that bring a greater need to moisturise and protect the skin barrier, but the leap into a new season can be very simple if you follow a few tailored steps. We’ve put together 5 tips on how to care for your skin in autumn to make this transition easier.
What happens to your skin in autumn?
Cooler temperatures cause blood vessels to constrict, which leads to poorer blood circulation and consequently a lower supply of nutrients. Sebaceous glands become less active as the temperatures drop, so our skin gets drier and more dehydrated. When they drop below 5 degrees Celsius, the skin’s own layer of fat thins out. In these conditions, sufficient hydration is essential to ensure a strengthened and healthy skin barrier, which protects against dry, itchy and senstivie skin.
5 autumn facial skincare tips
1. Cleansing without drying out
This is the step that is a constant throughout the year and is particularly important for the skin’s well-being and appearance. Consistent cleaning removes dirt, make up, dust particles, sweat and excess oils. After this step, the skin can breathe and the care can begin. It is especially important to choose a cleansing product that does not contain any artificial foaming agents, as these only dry out the skin further, and, as we’ve mentioned earlier, the skin needs more hydration during colder days. It is also advisable to gently exfoliate your skin once a week to remove dead skin cells and revitalise and circulate your skin. If you are fond of rituals, we also warmly recommend dry body brushing before showering - it is great for speeding up lymph and daily removal of dead cells, which helps achieve tighter, firmer and softer skin.
Purifying Face Cleanser deeply and gently purifies the skin, washing away make-up, excess oil and dirt without over-drying or stripping the skin of its natural oils.
2. Moisture, moisture and more moisture
Moisturising is a key step in any skincare routine, and you can never have enough moisture. Tonics, essences and serums are extremely important for maintaining beautiful and healthy skin. Well-hydrated skin glows, is tight, firm and youthful. Any imperfections are less noticeable and the conditions for imbalances and skin problems associated with them are significantly reduced. We offer a Moisturising Bright Essence for radiant complexion, designed specifically for intensive daily moisturising care. Rich in antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, it is the perfect first step to moisturise and prepare the skin for further care. A tip: do a few successive applications of the essence if you want an even better moisturising effect. Immediately after the essence, make sure your skin is nourished and properly protected. A combination that complements it well is a cream based on hempseed oil and CBD, both of which nourish, soften and protect the skin from moisture loss.

3. Targeted care
Moisture can escape from the skin very quickly, so we need to make that a little harder for it. With the help of the Replenishing Antioxidant Face Oil, we trap it in the skin, prolonging the moisturising effect. The oil serum soothes, restores and strengthens the skin. A tip: when your skin is particularly dry and sensitive, you can treat it to a rich night treatment with the Therapeutic CBD Skin Balm, which provides intensive night care and a strong and healthy skin barrier.
4. Healthy lifestyle, moisturising the skin from the inside out
The skin is a reflection of our inner well-being, our health and our daily habits and vices. Drinking water or herbal teas is something that’s incredibly easy, yet very important. It helps mositurise the body from the inside out. Eating enough fruit and vegetables also plays a part, as does a good sleep rhythm and other essential needs of the body that affect our overall well-being and psychophysical state.
5. Listen to your skin
Tailor your care to your skin’s needs. It sounds simple and it actually is - you are in the best position to monitor the condition of your skin and care for it according to its current needs. A holistic approach to taking care of yourself certainly pays off in the long run, and even small steps can make a big difference. Daily support tips: spray your skin with rose water several times a day, especially if you spend a lot of time indoors where the air is very dry; drink at least 2l of water a day; take some time for a short facial massage ritual each day; make sure you have a healthy and balanced diet and pay attention to consistent care of your whole body - including the delicate skin of your lips. It is the lips that need special attention, as the skin in this area does not produce enough fat on its own. Hydrating CBD Lip Balm can therefore be your faithful companion every step of the way and your lips will be bursting with health instead of dryness ;)
