I have acne and dry winter skin – what should I do

Content:

The first rule for the winter skin care is – moisturise, moisturise, moisturise.

What about care for acne-prone and oily skin in winter? Oily and impure skin also dries out in winter and therefore needs special winter care with a lot of moisturising – however, there are some rules to follow.

We have prepared 7 simple tips to help your winter skin look radiant and beautiful

1. Avoid washing your face with hot water

Avoid washing your face with hot water during winter. If you don't like using cold water, you can wash your face with warm water, but it should not be higher then 35°C. Hot water removes precious oils from the skin on the face, which protect it from external influences and help to maintain its moisture.

2. Avoid products that contain alcohol

If you sense a burning feeling when applying a cosmetic product, you should avoid using it. You have probably used a product that contains a lot of alcohol which will dry out the surface of your skin, thus destroying its natural acidic layers, resulting in the perfect breeding ground for bad bacteria. Therefore, prior to purchasing cosmetic products always read the list of ingredients and ensure that alcohol is not among them.

3. Petroleum doesn't belong on the face

Avoid using mineral oils during winter and at warmer times of the year. Mineral oils block pores, therefore they are not appropriate for the care of oily and impure skin. You probably won't want to hear this, however, mineral oil is a liquid by-product of the distillation of crude oil. On the ingredients list it can be recognized under the names: paraffin, vaseline, liquid petroleum, paraffin oil, paraffinum liquidum.

4. Non-comedogenic oils rule

If you have got oily and impure skin, always choose skincare that uses light and natural plant oils which should be non-comedogenic. This means that they feed the skin without blocking pores. Among the best types of oil for care of acne-prone skin is hemp oil, as it is non-comedogenic (it doesn't block pores), whilst at the same time it contains a perfect balance of omega fatty acids.

5. Aggressive soaps and cleansers should be thrown away

Everyone probably knows this, but aggressive soaps and cleansers with a lot of foam destroy your skin's acidic layer which is its shield against acne and pimples. Consequently, your dry skin will produce even more oil and will create the ideal conditions for the development of acne and pimples. It is better to choose a gentle cleanser that will cleanse the skin of impurities and maintain its natural balance.

Purifying Face Cleanser
  • Non-comedogenic hemp oil with omegas 3, 6 and 9 opens blocked pores and prevents the formation of blackheads
  • Refreshing cedar works as an antiseptic and improves the appearance of pores
  • Hemp-flower hydrolate is soothing and prevents the development of pimples

6. Your skin has two sides

Therefore, it is also necessary to always care for the skin from the inside. Make sure that in winter you get enough healthy fatty acids, including omegas 3 and 6. For healthy and beautiful skin a /comprehensive approach is always needed. Omegas 3 and 6 will strengthen your skin's barrier and thus increase its capability to retain valuable moisture. In the battle against acne and pimples, CBD cannabinoid is very efficient, as it helps return the body to its balanced state. Cannabinoid is available in various concentrations of CBD drops, which are natural, simple to use, and do not have side-effects.

7. And finally – choosing the right face cream

In winter, it is characteristic that skin has acne and pimples in certain areas, whilst in other areas it is very dehydrated and can even become flaky. Therefore, it is very important to regularly moisturise with a high-quality moisturising cream, which, on the one hand, will moisturise dry skin, whilst, on the other, it will not clog the pores and worsen the condition of acne and impurities.
