In one of our earlier blog posts we talked about skin problems that can occur in the summer, including contact dermatitis. A few days ago, one of the members of our team shared his own experience with us. His five-year-old daughter Maja had developed large rashes behind both knees. They were itchy and inflamed and very upsetting for the little girl. While playing happily in a grassy meadow she had experienced a skin reaction, although the exact cause of it remains unknown.
It may have been one of the plants growing in the meadow, an insect bite, or a combination of the heat and any of the allergens present. Who knows? From what we can see, it would appear to be a case of contact dermatitis. In other words, an allergic reaction to one of many allergens. When something like this happens to a child, a parent’s first priority is to try and calm the condition as quickly as possible and restore the skin to its normal state. In this case, our colleague was fortunate enough to have the best remedy close at hand – Hemptouch balm, of course.

Allergic contact dermatitis
The symptoms of acute allergic contact dermatitis appear suddenly. A redness is visible on the skin and itching is present. Later on, minute papules appear.
